About The Owner
The dgbremner&co story began around 1970. While attending high school, owner and founder David G. Bremner was working part time at Scorpion Young Men’s Fashions in Victoria’s Town and Country Shopping Center, as well as The Red Baron Boutique in Trounce Alley. He had the menswear bug, which eventually led to a full time job and a minor partnership.
Fast forward a few years and a short stint with Harry Rosen, David is now a member of George Straith Importers team. At the time, Straith’s was the premiere clothier in Victoria, and David was privileged to work alongside Mr. Straith, one of Canada’s most knowledgeable retailers of luxury European menswear. It was here, at this store akin to a finishing school for the clothing business, where David really learned to appreciate the advantages of great fabric and zero-compromise construction.
Following his experience with George Straith, David had the opportunity to manage E.A. Lee, an amazing menswear store in Victoria. Brioni, Belvest, Boss, Giorgio Armani, and Pal Zileri were just a few of the great brands that eventually led David, with the help of his wife Kim, to open his own store in Sidney. This grew to what exists today — three menswear stores and Good Bones, a ladies’ wear store in Sidney.
